Yn anffodus, oherwydd salwch nid ydwyf yn gallu cario ymlaen i weithio. Felly, mae'r amser wedi dod i fi rhoi’r ffidil yn y tô.

Bydd Nation dot Cymru, ( https://nation.cymru/), y wasanaeth newyddion gan y Cymry ar gyfer y Cymry, sy'n cael ei golygu gan Ifan Morgan Jones, yn cymryd dros Golygyddiaeth cylchgrawn Cymru Culture.

Heblaw sefydlu'r cylchgrawn,Mae un o'r pethau rwyf yn falch iawn o fod  wedi eu gwneud, gyda chymorth Leanne Wood AC / AC, yw newid statws swyddogol Cymru lo Dywysogaeth i Wlad. Gwelwch y darn hwn o'r Western Mail:

Maen nhw'n bwriadu creu adran tu fewn iNation.Cymru o'r enw Cymru Culture, fel atodiad penwythnosol, gydag ein cyfranwyr arbennig yn y canol. Efallai mai dyma'r tro cyntaf i chi ddod ar draws gwefan Nation.Cymru. Rhowch gynnig arni ac rwy’n siwr y gwnewch chi rannu ein hyder bod Cymru Culture mewn dwylo da.

Os ydych wedi ysgrifennu erthygl yr hoffech ei hanfon at Cymru Culture, neu Os ydych wedi ysgrifennu erthygl  dros Cymru Culture, neu  chiyn ystyried ysgrifennu un yr hoffech ei thrafod, anfonwch e-bost at Ifan Morgan Jones ar i ifan.morgan.jones@nation.cymru

Mae mwyafrif helaeth o’r cyfryngau cyhoeddus yng Nghymru yn deillio o, a chanolbwyntio ar, Llundain a de-ddwyrain Lloegr; rydym yn anweledig iddyn nhw, ar y gorau. Does dim ots gyda nhw am Gymru a'i phobol. Nid ydynt yn meddwl, gofalu neu sôn amdani ac, i fod yn honest, pam byddent? Mae hyn yn ein harwain i gredu nad oes unrhyw beth gydan ni i ymfalchïo ynddo, ac wrth gwrs nid yw hynny’n wir. Ond nid ydym yn ymwybodol ohono.

Mae Claire Meredith a finnau'n gweld hyn fel cyfle cyffrous iawn.

Dros godi ymwybyddiaeth o'r hanes, o’r diwylliant, a’r pobol anhygoel o ddawnus sy'n bodoli yng Nghymru a ledled y byd mewn cymaint o fesydd wahanol ac y oedd y rheswm pam dechreuon ni gyhoeddi Cymru Culture o'r cychwyn cyntaf.

Dros godi ymwybyddiaeth o’r hanes, y diwylliant, a'r sy'n bodoli yng Nghymru a'r Cymry. Mae mwyafrif helaeth o’r cyfryngau sy'n cael eu defnyddio yng Nghymru yn deillio o,  Lundain a de-ddwyrain Lloegr; rydym yn anweledig iddyn nhw, ar y gorau. Mae hyn yn ein harwain i gredu nad oes unrhyw beth gydan ni i ymfalchïo ynddo, ac wrth gwrs nid yw hynny’n wir. Ond nid ydym yn ymwybodol ohono.

Rwyf am ddweud wyrthych roedd yn bleser mawr ac yn fraint i olygu cylchgrawn Cymru Culture dros y blynyddoedd diweddaf. Diolchaf yn fawr iawn i’n ysgrifennwyr hudolus am eu cyfraniadau; hebddo nhw ni fyddai cylchgrawn Cymru Culture wedi bodoli.

Dim ond i roi gwybod ichi, mae canser arnaf fi. Mae’n ledled fy nghorff a does dim gwellhad i’w gael.

Mae tiwmor ymennydd arnaf hefyd. Mae'r tiwmor wedi effeithio ar fy swyddogaethau modur, sy wedi achosi i fi golli defnydd fy mraich, fy nghoes a fy law chwith, ac i golli’r gallu i ganolbwyntio neu feddwl yn glir am fwy na chyfnodau byr. Mae'n amlwg, nid yw Ironman Cymru Wales (Dinbych y Pysgod) neu golygu cylchgrawn Cymreig poblogaidd a pharchus yn opsiynau ymarferol bellach i fi.

Peidiwch becso neu teimlo’n drist drosof. Rwy wedi byw bywyd yn llawn o hwyl, cariad a chwerthin, ac yn ffodus iawn i rannu hynny gyda rhywun rwy’n caru yn fawr iawn ac sy’n fy ngharu i. Pwy all ofyn am fwy?

Diolch am gymryd yr amser i ddarllen Cymru Culture. Gobeithio eich bod chi'n falch eich bod wedi gwneud hynny.

Gobeithio byddwch chi'n cael o leiaf y maint o hwyl, cariad a chwerthin yn eich bywyd a ges i.

Hwyl fawr i chi gyd.

To all our readers and followers,

English

Sgroliwch i fyny at Y Gymraeg

I am writing to you to let you know that I will be retiring very shortly as Co-editor of cylchgrawn Cymru Culture magazine. Claire Meredith, my Co-editor will be retiring from the role at the same time.

Dai 1

Sadly, I am unwell and unable to carry on working any longer. So, the time has come to pass on the baton.

Nation dot Cymru (https://nation.cymru/), the news service by the people of Wales, for the people of Wales, edited by Ifan Morgan Jones, will be taking over the Editorship of Cymru Culture magazine.

They intend to create a section within Nation.Cymru called Cymru Culture, as a weekend supplement, posting stories there each week, with our fabulous regular contributors at its heart, but with additional stories and content from other writers.

They will also archive our old and current content, so you will still be able to access our contributors' previous articles.

If you have written an article you would like to to send for Cymru Culture, or are considering writing one that you would like to discuss please email Ifan Morgon Jones on ifan.morgan.jones on ifan.morgan.jones@nation.cymru

Both Claire and I see this as an exciting opportunity and a really good fit, as both Nation.cymru and Cymru Culture share a similar ethos, putting Wales and Welsh people at the forefront of our stories. This may be the first time you will have come across Nation.Cymru. Please take a look. I'm sure you will share our confidence that the magazine's future will be in good hands.

The vast majority of media consumed in Wales derives from and is about London and south-east England, to whom we are invisible, at best. They neither care, think about or mention us at all and, frankly, why would they?

This leads us to believe we have nothing to be proud of, and of course we have. We just aren't aware of it.

Raising the awareness of the incredible history, culture and talent of Welsh people in many different fields that exists in Wales and across the world was the was the reason we began publishing Cymru Culture from the very start.

I am happy to tell you that it has been a great pleasure and a privilege to have brought Cymru Culture to you the last few years. Many thanks to our fabulous writers for their contributions, without whom Cymru Culture magazine would not have existed.

Just to let you know, the reason I cannot continue with the magazine is that I have cancer. It is extensive and ultimately, inoperable. I also have a brain tumour.

The tumour has impacted on my motor functions, which has caused me to lose the use of my left arm leg and hand, and to be unable to concentrate or think as coherently as I'd like. Clearly, competing in Ironman Cymru Wales, (in Dinbych y Pysgod / Tenby) or editing a well-loved and respected Welsh magazine are no longer viable options for me.

Please don't worry or be sad about me. I have lived a full life, a life full of fun, love and laughter, which I was fortunate enough to share with someone whom I love very much and who loved me. Who could ask for more?

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to have read Cymru Culture. I hope you are glad you did.

I wish you at least as much fun, love and laughter in your life as I have had in mine.

Dai Barnaby,

May 2018
